Born and raised in the City of Shasta Lake, California, Rachel Duryee began her art education at the local high school, after which she attended Shasta Community College, before moving on to California State University of Chico. She graduated with honors, obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree, with a double major in Art Education and Art Studio. Next she went on to obtain her California State Teaching Credential.
Although interested in all forms of art, her emphasis is painting with a specific interest in oil painting. She specializes in realism with a fondness for Portraits. Most recently she has begun a series dealing with the lakes of her hometown; Shasta Lake and Whiskeytown. Rachel is currently teaching K-12 Art at Stellar Charter School.
Rachel will gladly accept commissions for any project you would like to propose, including but not limited to Portraits of children, family, friends, or transformations of your favorite photograph into an original oil painting.
